Greetings from WAMBO

Wallaceburg’s most highly anticipated weekend of the summer is finally here.
After a two-year disruption, WAMBO 33 is upon us and I can feel the excitement across the community.
WAMBO is a “homecoming” for Wallaceburg every second weekend in August. Thousands of people gather to view the classic cars downtown, check out the antique boats in the Sydenham River basin, enjoy the LIVE music or catch up with friends in the refreshment tent.
There are multiple vendors, art in the park, fire trucks, motorcycles, karaoke, the Friday night car cruise, church service, lawn tractor pull… the list goes on and there is truly something fun for everyone.
There is also free musical entertainment every year and I’m pumped to see the Ray Whaling Band, Leave Those Kids Alone and Dreamer performing downtown.
I’ve been honoured to serve on the WAMBO committee for a number of years now. The time, effort and dedication this team of amazing volunteers commits to year after year, is inspiring. It’s a tremendous honour to stand beside each and every one of you. Thank-you for all you do.
WAMBO also wouldn’t be possible without their amazing sponsors. Have a look at the posters around town or online, and try to make an effort to support them throughout the year. Their donations and contributions help make WAMBO a reality.
To all of our visitors and the members of our community, and on behalf of Dana, Ava, Daylia and my entire family - welcome to WAMBO!
Have fun, be safe and enjoy this great community celebration.
